Ron Tutor is the CEO and Chairman of the Tutor Perini Construction Group, one of the largest general contractors in the USA. The Tutor Perini group was formed by the 2008 merger of the Perini Building Group and Tutor-Saliba, both owned by Ron Tutor. Tutor Saliba was founded by Albert G Tutor in 1949 as AG Tutor Company. After a 1981 merger with the Saliba Company, the Tutor Saliba group was formed. Tubor Saliba became a very successful construction and engineering group. In 1997 Ron Tutor acquired the Perini Building Group after the company was in financial troubles in the mid-1990’s. After several acquisitions the Tutor Perini Construction Group became one of the largest contractors in the US, realizing sales of USD 3,7 billion in 2011. In 2010 Tutor purchased Miramax Films from Disney for USD 650 million. Ron Tutor has owned several superyachts all named Pegasus. The current yacht Pegasus V was built as Princess Mariana for Mexican billionaire Carlos Quintero. Ron Tutor purchased Pegasus V in 2011 but put her up for sale again in 2012. The Los Angeles Business Journal estimates the net worth of Ron Tutor at USD 800 million.
